Humanitarian visa

ATTENTION: When filling out electronic visa application form on website visa.kdmid.ru please choose the place of submission - Russian Visa Centre (Sydney). The answers to the questions on the visa application form must be exhaustive.  Applications without a cover letter will not be processed until the fully completed form is received.

Humanitarian visa is issued to Australian Citizens and other nationals who are the holders of Australian residency visa to enter the Russian Federation for the purpose of establishing,  renewing and strengthening scientific, cultural, social and political  relations, for sporting activities, religious and charity work as well  as humanitarian aid delivery.

The visa is issued based on an invitation issued by the General Administration for Migration Issues of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (Russian MFA).

Humanitarian visas can be applied for single, double or multi entry  and issued for the period of 30, 90, 180 or 365 days (even more in certain cases, based on the dates provided in the invitation obtained from MIA). The duration of stay in the Russian Federation with a multiple-entry visa may not exceed 90 days within any 180 days period.

Visa are issued accordingly to tourist voucher or any other visa invitations entry and exit dates.

In order to apply for a humanitarian visa you must submit the following:

1. The  invitation for an entry into the Russian Federation issued by the  General Administration for Migration issued of the Ministry of Internal  Affairs of the Russian Federation; or The decision of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue a visa;
2. A valid passport or other valid travel document certifying the  identity of a foreign citizen and recognized as such by the Russian  Federation. A passport or other valid travel document presented by a  foreign citizen must not raise doubts about its authenticity and  belonging to its owner, contain marks, reservations, entries, erasures  and corrections not certified by the competent authorities of the  relevant foreign state, torn out or unsewn pages, must have at least two  blank pages intended for visas. As a rule, the passport must not expire  earlier than 6 months from the expiration date of the visa.
3. Copy of the data page of the passport (the page containing  personal data and photograph of the holder, passport number, issue and  expiry dates);
4. Electronic Visa Application Form, filled out in Russian or  English, and printed double-sided from the following website of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Sydney: https://visa.kdmid.ru.  (Please follow the instructions for the procedure, available at the  above mentioned website, provided in Russian as well as other languages,  including Japanese). 5. One passport size (3.5 x 4.5 cm) clear photo in color taken full-face directly facing the camera and against a plain white or light-colored background. Only non-tinted prescription glasses and head covering worn daily for a religious purpose or as a part of national costume (in this case the same head covering must be  worn in the passport photo) are allowed and to be taken no later than   six months before the date of application.

7. We recommend you to obtain medical and travel insurance policy.  Our consultants can assist you to obtain insurance policy accordingly to your needs; an amount of coverage for medical services of at least 30,000 euros or an equivalent amount in another currency, valid for the entire period of the intended trip to  the Russian Federation (for citizens of Austria, Australia, Belgium,  Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Denmark, Israel, Ireland, Iceland, Spain,  Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands,  Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Finland,  France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Estonia). When requesting a multiple-entry visa insurance policy should be valid for the period of first entry.

Important! In case you have two or more valid passports, please make sure there  are no valid Russian visas in any of the passports before submitting  your visa application.

Please note! Russian Consular Offices may request additional supporting visa documents, invite  you for an interview or extend the time of visa issuing procedure.

Visa application for minors under 18 years of age: 

If visa application is filled on behalf of children under 18 years of age, copy of birth certificate of applicant and the copy of front page passport of parent must be included in the supporting documents.
